About this website

I want to change.

I want to be a better person. I want the world to be better because I am here. So the question is, what is wrong with me? What needs to change? That is easy. I am impulsive, selfish, undisciplined, and fairly lazy. I procrastinate, start things I don’t finish, and have way too much stuff I don’t need. The biggest problem, however, is one I share with most people on Earth: I have potential.

Every year I make a bunch of New Years Resolutions and by the end of January I have forgotten them all. This year I wondered what would happen if I actually follow through with them. All of them.

The name of the website comes from a famous epitaph:

"When I was [young], I wanted to change the world.
I found it difficult to change the world,
so I tried to change my nation.
When I found I couldn’t change the nation,
I began to focus on my town.
I couldn’t change the town
So I tried to change my family.
Now, [older] I know the only thing I can change is myself,
And suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself,
I could have made an impact on my family.
My family and I could have made an impact on our town.
Their impact could have changed the nation
And thus I could indeed have changed the world.
