No Sugar Challenge
I heard a rumor that my gym might have a No Sugar challenge in January. I hope so. I would definitely get in on that. I can barely make it one week much less a month. Sometimes I can barely make it through one day. I wish I could blame it on the holidays but it is equally bad year round. My family had “cookie day†on Sunday. It was so much fun to make cookies and give them out to the neighbors. But I couldn’t bring myself to give them ALL to the neighbors. (One for me… one for them, two for me… one for them). Tastes so good. A few hours of being really hyper followed by a two day cookie hangover. I used to think it was totally worth it. Now I think it would make more sense to choose feeling good for the two days than the couple hours.

I’m pretty much done with sugar. I’ve been on a Whole30 thing for the month of December – which includes, among other things, no sugar of any kind, save for what I might get from a piece of fruit every other day or so or some sweet potato on workout days. It’s kind of insane to do this during December, I know, but it’s worked out so far. Plus, I figure if I can do it now I can do it any old time. My baking day is this weekend and I’m making “paleo-fied” treats for my co-workers since they seem to like everything I bring in!
Hope your holidays are going well, Karen!

You are so brave! No sugar at Christmas! Actually, I think I may make those chocolate coconut treats you brought to the Colorado Open next week. You will have to post the recipes you use this weekend somewhere so I can steal them! Hey, let’s definitely plan to get together in January after the holidays. K? Maybe we can bundle up and walk the loop at Chautaqua and then have coffee or something.
